Bacari Wine Bar & Tapas

Bacari is a wine and tapas bar in Ubud, created for relaxed evenings, shared plates, and exploring wine without formality.

At its core, Bacari is a wine-forward space, offering an extensive selection of wines by the glass, alongside a carefully curated bottle and carafe list designed for sharing. This allows guests to explore different styles, regions, and varietals — whether stopping in for a single glass or settling in for the night.

The food menu is built around tapas-style, shareable plates, inspired by Mediterranean flavors and designed to complement the wine rather than compete with it. Bacari is a place for conversation, easygoing dinners, and repeat visits — where wine, food, and atmosphere come together naturally.

Located on Ubud’s walking street, Bacari has become a favorite among locals, expats, and long-stay travelers looking for good wine, good food, and a social dining experience without pretension.

Wines

At the heart of Bacari is a wine-forward approach designed around exploration rather than formality. Bacari offers an extensive 20 wines-by-the-glass program, featuring international selections from both the Old World and the New.

All wines by the glass are served using Coravin, allowing each glass to be poured without opening the bottle. This ensures quality, consistency, and the freedom to offer a wider and more diverse selection than a traditional by-the-glass list.

In addition to wines by the glass, Bacari offers a curated upto 50 bottle and carafe selection, making it easy to share wine over tapas-style dishes and longer evenings at the table.

The wine program is designed to be flexible and personal — guests can enjoy a single glass, compare different styles, or build their own tasting experience across the menu. Whether you are deeply interested in wine or simply enjoy drinking it well, Bacari’s wine list is built to be explored.

“Remember gentlemen, it’s not just France we are fighting for, it’s Champagne.”

Cocktails

Bacari’s cocktail program stands alongside its wine list as a core part of the experience. Built on premium spirits and precise technique, the menu takes inspiration from timeless Classics and Modern Classics, focusing on balance, structure, and drinks that are as satisfying on their own as they are with food.

Tapas

Dinner at Bacari is centred around tapas-style plates, designed for sharing and paced evenings. The menu is intentionally structured to complement the wine list, allowing guests to mix, match, and build their meal organically over the course of the night.

The flavours draw from the Mediterranean, Middle East, and South Asia, connected by a shared emphasis on acidity, spice, grilling, and fresh herbs. Ingredients are sourced locally through trusted partners in Bali, while the flavour profiles remain bold, clean, and recognisable.

“Dinner would have been splendid…if the wine had been as cold as the soup, the beef as rare as the service, the brandy as old as the fish, and the maid as willing as the Duchess.”
